Ready For Another Week??

Okay. So, I will be honest. I usually am so exhausted going to this Family Relations class at 8am. I have lately been staying up stupid late with my boyfriend and getting up at the booty crack of dawn and I am always so tired! But can I just say to save myself, that class this week was so beyond great. I have been learning so many things and I have thoroughly enjoyed the discussions we have had in class!

So the discussion that kept me engaged and awake this week was on the roles of men and women in the house hold and why gender is a very important role.

Before anyone gets any preconceived notions and thinks that things talked about were in a negative and hateful way I just want to say that God loves all His children. No matter the choices we make as human beings in this life on earth, Heavenly Father will be there for all of us in our times of need and absolutely loves all of the people on the earth.

To me, with the discussion had in class I would have to agree that gender plays a very very important role in all of our lives.

Women are typically more motherly. More nurturing and caring and able to deal with the stresses of the children around them. Now, I'm not saying that there aren’t men out there who aren’t good at these things as well but I'm saying generally and naturally, women more so fall in this category of being the nurturer in the relationship of parenting.

Men are typically the providers and the protectors. Again, I would like to say that this is not all men and I know there are exceptions but men usually are the ones that go to work to make money and make sure their wife and their children are taken care of with a roof over their heads and clothes on their back. And when it comes to protection of those in their family, men are biologically built stronger than women and with more ability to protect those around them. I do know there are strong as heck women out there, I used to nanny for one. But lets be real and honest with ourselves, men are just stronger.

In class we broke out into groups and talked about how gender was important in our lives today. One of my classmates brought up the whole thing about those transgender athletes who have been causing a ruckus in the news. Those men who now claim to be women and then run in the women events obviously creaming the women who are actually, biologically women. Like I said before, men are built different and naturally are more athletic. So, with these men who are now women who also only ran super mediocrely with the men but now that they are women, they crush all the actual women. I am not one to hate. I believe in equality for all men and no discrimination. But open your eyes people. This is just down right unfair! Come on! I hate that that is allowed. those who choose to be transgender and are athletes should participate in their own events and not with the genders they now claim to be.

So back to the main subject at hand. Roles as moms and dads is different in every home. I think I briefly touched on this in last weeks blog post but lets revisit the subject.

Personally, I love that moms stay home with the kids. I know that God gave women that innate and natural ability to be so loving and caring to their children. I believe that dads love and care for their children too, please don’t mistake what I'm saying here, but women really are just so motherly! And fathers are always looked up to and loved by their children as they watch how he continues to work hard and be there for them in their times of need. The protection a father provides is what mothers don’t typically do and nurturing is not what fathers typically do. It is definitely possible for men and women to take on roles that are necessary depending on their family situation but I truly believe that God made man and woman different in a very unique way to compliment each other in their roles as parents and to accomplish what He has in store for His children.
